“I’ve signed to be here for as long as possible. It’s a humongous club – for me, one of the biggest in the world – and to have the fans and world-class players we have here is amazing.”
Sturridge began his professional contract with Manchester City where he helped the Citizens lift the FA Youth Cup in 2009.
The following season he signed for Chelsea but, despite 24 goals for the Stamford Bridge outfit, he failed to establish himself in the first team.
Despite moving to his third club in five years, Sturridge believes his new manager can get the best out of him.
“Brendan Rodgers said he sees me here for a long time. and I also see myself here for a long time.
“I’ve not signed here to play for a couple of years and move on.”
Sturridge has four England caps and scored twice for Great Britain during last summer’s Olympic Games.
